A growing trend in the WordPress community is the ability of theme authors to create a larger percentage of premium themes that cater to a number of business and personal blogging needs. This is evidenced by the wide range of companies that are now releasing downloads capable of doing everything from serving as an e-Commerce platform to posting multimedia content and more. Obox Design is no exception to this tendency, and has released its latest theme, called FlatPack, which is marketed as “the only theme you’ll ever need.”
The Obox Design staff posted in a recent blog post on the site that “hot off the heels of launching the Multi-Purpose theme, Dynamo, we would like to introduce you to our latest Multi-purpose business theme, Flatpack. Flatpack is based off the new framework we developed when creating Dynamo and comes packed with the same goodness you see there. The big difference is a slick new design featuring a flat and colorful look and feel, inspired by the Windows 8 interface, and extensive work on the typography.”
While versatile in nature, the live demo page of this theme comes off as a business platform with a traditional top navigation bar followed by a featured content slider which can be programmed to rotate content automatically or let the visitor scroll the slides manually. There is a three column layout for homepage blurbs immediately below the slider which can be used to relay additional information about the services your firm provides; plus a space for introductory or promotional text complete with a title and description.
There are a number of impressive features that come with the FlatPack theme. Namely this download contains a total of 11 custom page templates, a featured content slider with more than a dozen layout options, a portfolio section that allows you to highlight your recent work, an unlimited amount of colors that can be used, e-Commerce integration, three homepage layout options, three sidebar layout options, social media integration, custom post styles and more.
Thanks to this theme’s WooCommerce integration, you can even use it as an online point of sale to market your products to a large global audience (payment gateway solutions are available separately). There is also room for testimonials, a separate news feed, plenty of widgetized regions and an easy way to link to your social media accounts such as Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Easy To Use Options Panel
If you’re a current Obox customer, then you know that the framework is easy to work with and requires no code manipulation to use. As soon as you download this product, you can activate it on your website and make use of it without going into the Editor.
Going into the Options Panel itself shows a well laid out grid-based control module that can be simply clicked on (or tapped on) to perform major tasks within the theme.
As we’ve mentioned, this theme follows a growing trend in that it is designed to serve multiple business purposes. Although you could technically set up FlatPack to serve as a personal blogging platform, it is much more apt at becoming a business theme for your WordPress website.
Thanks to its many custom page templates, you can set up a dedicated contact page, publish an independent blog feed, create your portfolio, and basically grant visitors an online shopping experience including fully featured cart and checkout modules.
If you’re looking for a well rounded WordPress theme to serve as the basis of your current or next WordPress site, then you might want to check out FlatPack. You can view additional information by visiting the following links.
