The recently launched WordPress theme Appply is the latest commercial template offering by WooThemes.com. As one would expect, Appply works off of the WooCommerce management system and can be used for a variety of business purposes ranging from single product promotion to online retail.
The theme comes with a 100% responsive design to accommodate the unique view needs of mobile device and tablet computer users while incorporating the “Features and Testimonials” plugin that allows webmasters to display company info and user feedback on the homepage.
Unique Color Styles
In a recent blog post, WooThemes co-founder Mark Forrester explained that the template is custom designed to permit a massive amount of flexible programming without ever having to manipulate actual code. “As you’ve come to expect with all our new theme releases, Appply comes out of the box with support and styling for our eCommerce plugin WooCommerce,” said Forrester.
“It also supports Features and Testimonials to further beef up the feature set of this versatile theme. With simple, bold and flat color styling customizing Appply should be a breeze, and thanks to it’s LESS powered CSS development you should be able to make major changes to the theme with limited code edits. These alternate styles showcase its flexibility with each CSS file being only a few lines of extra styling.”
There are also plenty of areas within the sidebar and footer regions to insert custom widgets to allow one-click access to recent posts, social media feeds, Flickr photos, etc.
Virtual Storefront Use
With Appply, you can convert your WordPress website into an online Point of Sale instantly. The template comes standard with Shopping Cart capabilities that can be stored by each front-end user as he/she decides which items to purchase.
Appply can be used for online merchandise sales of apparel, electronics, accessories, and other items. There is no need to alter the main configuration in order to get the Shop pages to function… all you have to do is input your specific content from the back-end via the easy setup modules and let the template do the rest.
The homepage begins with a traditional top navigational area that lays out each page and uses drop down menus for sub categories. There is room for a logo at the top-left, and the Shopping Cart icon is at the top-right.
Below you will find the Featured Content Slider which can be configured to rotate slides automatically. Call-to-action buttons are used when necessary in order to encourage visitors to click through and find out more, while the arrow icons on either side are designed for manual manipulation of the content.
If you have corporate news you’d like to share with your online audience, you can do so via a separate blog feed. On this page, entries will include an image, title, publication date, author name, category, text excerpt and continue reading link. In the screenshot below, I’ve included the Blog page along with the right-hand sidebar. You may also add advertisement banners to the widgetized regions in order to generate revenue through sponsorship.
The Appply theme comes with a single license price of $70 which grants permission to use the download for one domain. With the purchase, you will also be able to access two additional templates. The Developer’s license gives customers unlimited domain usage, layered PSD files and three extra themes.
If you would like the ability to download all of the premium downloads offered by WooThemes, there is a Club Membership option available for a $125 fee and $20 recurring monthly membership.
